Today I’ve got something different for you. First of all there will be two blog posts, Thankful Thursday will be posted this afternoon, and I’ve got this and just had to post about it. You know when you visit the physio they sometimes will tape some part of your body to give you muscles more support? Well, you can do that at home now with Spider Tech!
Spider Tech Kinesiology Tape is a precut tape that you can apply yourself. It has the same elasticity as your skin (140%) and therefore will support your muscle in order to make sure you can perform at your best.
The universal X Spiders can be put almost everywhere: shoulder, elbow, knee, calve (I should try it) etc. They also have one for your lower back, elbow and as you can see for your knee/thigh (and loads of other forms but they are not available in the Netherlands). Each Spider lasts up to 5 days and is water resistant.
Well, that’s all great but how does it work and when can you use it? You can use it for recovery after injuries, operation or just for extra support when working out or at game/race day. The Spider Tech Kinesiology Tape is designed to imitate the section, weight and elasticity of the skin. By supporting the skin the Spider Tech Kinesiology Tape simply lifts the skin to ensure a better bloodflow in the hypodermic connective tissue. The tape also influences the feedback from the muscles to the brain which reminds the brain to protect the injured part, it will feel like you are more stable and thus it takes away the fear of moving.
Spider Tech Kinesiology Tape is available at their online shop (Dutch) and costs €39,95 (elbow, lower back, upper knee, universal X Spider 20 pack) and €14,95 (universal X Spider 6 pack).
For residents of the United States and Canada Spider Tech Kinesiology Tape is available at their online shop and at selected retailers. Prices range from $6,99 till $69,99 the US and Canada shop also has many other types of tape but they unfortunately do not ship outside of the US or Canada.
